The Tour de France automobile is the oldest existing event. Its new formula, contested with “classics”, is in its 32nd edition. Among the said classics, which must have participated between 1951 and 1973, many Ferrari and Porsche rubbed shoulders with a Bugatti, Mercedes 300 SL, a very special Renault 4 CV, Ford GT40 and, this is exceptional, a Ferrari 512 M. Equally exceptional is the Jaguar Type C which lights up the cover.
This year, the English are in the spotlight, and they do honor. Honor to the sumptuous route, which combined legendary circuits, Dijon-Prenois, Charade and Paul Ricard, special stages of the Monte-Carlo rally and roads winding between the vineyards. Certainly, a great vintage!
