The Type 7 / Porsche Artifacts Book is an art book featuring an unparalleled view into the Porsche Historic Archive, capturing in rich photography a curated collection of the millions of items that have weaved the fabric of Porsche over the last 75 years. From engineering notebooks to the original sketch of the iconic Porsche Crest, each object is presented in a deeply tactile, uncompromising experience that aims to evoke the feeling of entering the vault in Stuttgart as an archivist and exploring the physical history of Porsche.
Millions of items have been curated to a meaningful selection that explore the full spread of the Archive, encompassing Porsche family items, equipment from Porsche design and development history, and documents of iconic cars, all of which are tied directly to the vehicles inside the Porsche Museum. Each of the selected items were photographed by Creative Director and photographer Thomas Walk in a specially-constructed studio space on-site in Zuffenhausen, while vehicles were photographed in situ at the Porsche Museum.
