In October 2004, the organizers of Moto1 had a brilliant idea: to bring together the best Superbike, motocross, enduro, supermoto and trial riders in the country to compete in four different disciplines. The aim was to find out who really was Britain’s best all-round motorcycle competitor.
The event was held in Donington Park, UK. For two days, BSBK stars such as Karl Harris and Dean Ellison clashed with riders such as Trials champion Graham Jarvis, Supermoto champion Davy Tougher and Enduro champion David Knight.
The show was thrilling. The riders had to demonstrate their skills in a variety of conditions, from the mud and stones of trials to the rough terrain of motocross and the asphalt circuit of the Supersport 600.
At the end of the event, the winner was motocross rider David Knight, who claimed the title of “Britain’s Number One”.
The event was a great success, attracting an audience of motorcycling enthusiasts from all over the world. It was a one-of-a-kind event that gave all fans the chance to see Britain’s best riders compete in a single event.
