Product description

With the testimony of Gisberto Leopardi, since 1947 with the Cavallino

The birth and first affirmations of Ferrari, seen from the inside, with the testimony of a technician/engine, active for forty years in the Cavallino factory, from 1947 to 1987.

Gisberto Leopardi was a boy, born and raised in Maranello, when he had the courage to stop Enzo Ferrari on the street to ask him for a job. A cheek that brought him luck, and that saw him assume, after the initial position of apprentice, the role of motorista in the competitive sector and subsequently that of responsible for the assembly of engines intended for racing.

Memories, experiences and suggestions that Gisberto Leopardi kept to himself, until he turned 93, brought with the passion and energy of the green years. At that point, he decided to tell what the environment was like inside what would become the most famous car factory in the world and how it changed in the first decades. Without forgetting how Maranello’s life changed, with the arrival of Ferrari, and how important that fundamental presence was to transform an isolated agricultural village into an important industrial center, as well as a “Sanctuary” for enthusiasts.

Memories that show love for Ferrari, which allowed Leopardi to be a co-star in the midst of competitive events that made history. Always with a tone of humanity, as it is in his character, which emerges in the memory of Gilles Villeneuve’s tragedy, seen through a minor episode, but of great intensity.
