Product description
Finally available the latest work by Arnaud Meunier, the freelance journalist-photographer, author of several books dedicated to Ferraris. The new book is entirely dedicated to the history of the Ferrari 250 LM chassis number 5895. This meticulous work, started two years ago, is the result of many years of research dedicated to the list of all the races in which the Ferrari 250 LM took part, fixing the attention on the chassis number 5895. The Ferrari 250 LM was not considered as such by the international automotive authorities and this created great tensions between Enzo Ferrari and the Federation. It remains an important model in the history of the Maranello house, not only for its beautiful lines but also for important victories, obtained by the private teams for which it ran, including the 12 hours of Reims, the 9 hours of Kyalami, the 500 km of Spa-Francorchamps, the 1000 km of Paris and the 24 hours of Le Mans, which in fact in 1965 is the last victory of a Ferrari at Le Mans. The 250 LM ch. 5895 of the Maranello Concessionaires is precisely the one that reported the first absolute victory of a 250 LM. The history of this berlinetta has allowed the author to speak also of the English Scuderia of the Maranello Concessionaires and therefore of the colonel “Ronnie” Hoare. The book is divided into 5 chapters where the history of the model is described with the characteristic attention of Meunier, the 250 Le Mans designed by Pininfarina and created by Ferrari for privates racing teams: the history of the Garage “Maranello Concessionaires” the beginning of the official import of Ferrari into Great Britain and of its Sports Team; the identification of all the 250 LM entered in the race by the Maranello Concessionaires Racing Team; the history of the 250 LM ch.5895 from 1964 to today and finally the register of all 32 Ferrari 250 LMs built with their history and participation in races and sporting events.
