The book represents a remarkable monographic work born from the collection of numerous material on the Dune Buggies produced in Italy and motorized by Volkswagen, but not only. The result is a long and careful research on the origins of this particular and original vehicle born in America and the events that led to its subsequent landing in Europe and finally in Italy.
Currently the only publications on the subject are reduced to a couple of books published in America that do not even mention Italian or European production. It was therefore felt the lack in the Italian publishing scene of a book in our language that dealt with the local production none second to none for aesthetic beauty and refinement of the technical solutions.
Finding reliable sources, outside of the few and scarce articles published at the time in specialized journals, was not easy at all. Some builders still alive have provided photos of the era, diagrams, technical information, brochures, catalogs not forgetting to tell anecdotes about these mythical beach machines for which time seems to have never passed.
