«I’m Rachele and I’m 29 years old. Within a month of my birth, my parents were told that I had cystic fibrosis, a degenerative genetic disease that cannot be cured. The disease is not seen because it mainly affects the internal organs and it is difficult to breathe. When I was invited to a Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation event, I asked myself: how do I combine my passion for cars with what is closest to my heart? And I invented the “Running for a Breath” project, an initiative that supports the projects of the Onlus Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (FFC)»
Rachele Somaschini is a concentrate of energy and vitality. That same strength that pours into these pages, telling dramatic stories, but also managing to convey all the beauty of chasing one’s dreams: in her case motorsport and rallying. A discipline that requires preparation, endurance and a lot of technique – and which also tests the nerves when faced with a hostile male environment. This is her story, made up of tears and joys, of smiles and goodbyes, of love and discoveries.
