With a historical focus, the work presents a reflection on the helmet object within F1 from both an ethnological and aesthetic point of view.
By going back to the roots of motorsport, to the era of “speed drivers” with caps, by reviewing the iconic and emblematic helmets of each generation of drivers, this project invites us to rediscover the champions of yesterday and today today, the forgotten or disappeared drivers, and finally to reconnect in an original way with the history of F1, from an object which has become the very icon of the discipline: the Grand Prix driver’s helmet .
