Rivola Luigi
Born in Faenza in 1948, Luigi Rivola discovered the motorcycle in his youth and in 1970 he started racing at speed in the 250 class of the Italian Junior Championship with a Ducati, immediately obtaining good placings. Moving to the 500 class in 1972 with a Suzuki, he also raced as an official Suzuki-Italy rider: best result, a second place in Modena. In 1973 he started journalism at the Moto Sport weekly and, since then, has made specialized journalism his profession. He worked as a collaborator for the monthly magazines La Moto and Motociclismo, then as editor at Motosprint and in the role of editor-in-chief at SuperWheels, at the website Motonline.com, and finally at Dueruote, a monthly that he left in 2012. He has been a correspondent from ‘Italy for Japanese, American, French and Spanish specialized magazines. He has written several books on the history of motorcycling, all of which have also been translated into foreign languages and has collaborated in the realization of the four-part program “Stories of Men and Motorcycles”, produced by the first national television network. He also wrote the texts on motorcycling from the Treccani Sports Encyclopedia. For Giorgio Nada Editore he has published “Classe 500. La regina del Motomondiale” (2018) and is co-author of the volume “MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT Marco Simoncelli. 50 years of racing / 50 years of racing 1972-2022 “(2022).
